Location: Southwark, London
Hours: Split Shift - 06:30 - 09:30 and 15:00 - 19:00, Monday to Friday
Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 (Permanent Position)

Start Date: Immediate

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to join our primary school in Southwark on a temp to perm basis. This crucial role requires someone who can manage the upkeep, security, and smooth operation of our school facilities across split shifts. As Premises Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our school is a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Premises Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the opening and closing of the school premises, ensuring all security measures are in place.
  • Carry out daily inspections and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Manage minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and liaise with external contractors for larger projects.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are met, including conducting regular risk assessments and fire safety checks.
  • Oversee the cleaning and hygiene of the school, ensuring high standards are maintained.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling, and ensure the grounds are well-maintained.
  • Prepare and set up rooms and spaces for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Premises Manager, Facilities Manager, or a related role, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong practical skills, including general maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, particularly across split shifts.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices is essential.
