Registered Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, passionate, and motivated individual to take the role of Registered Manager at a Children's Home in the North East. It is a 5-bed home which provides short breaks and residential care for children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities. The organisation you would be working for specialises in providing care and support to children and young people to ensure the health, well-being, and safety of all their service users. They strive to create a safe and fun environment for the service users as their main aim is to ensure that every child and young person can live the lives they deserve.
This role is on a temporary basis of 3 - 6 months with the potential to go permanently in the service. You will be working from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday with 35 hours being the total amount per week.
What you'll need to succeed:

  • Obtained Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care
  • Previous experience within the last 5 years working in a children's residential home setting
  • Experience managing a team
  • Good knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations in-line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children's Homes
  • Understand the main responsibilities of a Registered Manager
  • Have a passion for helping change the lives of children and young people so that their voices are heard and personal needs are met
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service with the children's barred list

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people
  • Provide high quality care services to support all children and young people living in the home
  • Ensure all service users have individual care plans which have been carefully developed in order to meet their needs and to ensure person-centred care
  • Ensure the safeguarding, individual rights, and equality amongst the service users
  • Manage, supervise, and assist staff members in the professional development of the home regarding policies and procedures being followed, completed training, and risk assessments being up to date
  • Monitor performance and promote the personal development of staff members through regular appraisal meetings
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals and build relationships with the parents/ carers and other family members of the service users
  • Manage any ongoing finances and budgets
