HR Advisor / Human Resources / Employee Relations

SALARY: Competitive Salary (dependant on experience) + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Barnsley, South Yorkshire (S72) - 100% Office Based with occasional travel to other business premises

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Maternity Cover Contract (up to 15 months)

Key Requirement: A driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential to this role. Occasional travel to other business premises is required, this may involve the occasional overnight stay.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HR Advisorwith previous experience in an equivalent Human Resources role, excellent communication, organisation and people skills, who ideally is CIPD qualified and/or is experienced in providing employee relations advice.

Working as the HR Advisor you will have the ability to handle complex employee relations issues and drive initiatives that improve the organisation's processes and support their talented workforce.

As the HR Advisor you will provide expert advice, manage and resolve issues and support investigations and disciplinary hearings, working together with fellow HR team members.

DUTIES

Your duties as the HR Advisorwill include:

  • Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on all employee relations matters, these will vary in complexity and volume
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues in line with up-to-date employment law knowledge taking a consistent approach
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Support in investigations and disciplinary hearings, providing advice and guidance where necessary, taking accurate minutes of meetings
  • Work together with fellow HR team members to develop and provide training sessions to line managers on key HR topics such as absence management, performance management, and handling disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Monitor and analyse employee trends and metrics, providing insights and recommendations
  • Production of HR KPIs and monthly management reports
  • Manage recruitment campaigns, including sourcing of suitable candidate and coordination of interviews
  • Preparation of new starter paperwork including drafting of employment contracts
  • Inductions and onboarding of new starters
  • Management of company benefit schemes
  • Support on any key HR projects as required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience of working in an equivalent HR role
  • CIPD qualified (ideally), although not essential if you can demonstrate a strong background in providing employee relations advice
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent people skills and a hard-working team player
  • A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. Occasional travel to other business premises will be a requirement of the role, this may involve the occasional overnight stay
  • IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle data confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Highly accurate and strong attention to detail
  • Experience of and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to build effective relationships and work as an effective team member collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Self-motivated, with a flexible approach to work
  • Capability to learn new systems
  • Ability to multitask, and manage time and workload effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, working calmly under pressure
