Type: Permanent

Location: Manchester

Hours: Rotating shifts; 06:0014:00 Mon to Thursday, 06:00- 12:00/1200-18:00 Friday

Salary: £28,375 increasing a further £2000 after probation (£30,375)

Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Manchester is looking to appoint an experienced mixing/laboratory technician who will work at their state-of-the-art facility and offered progression opportunities -supporting a wider Laboratory team by performing quality control checks, you will also undertake development work related to textiles and chemicals as required.

The Job

ØConduct quality control checks on raw materials.

ØEvaluate liquor samples, including viscosity and colour assessments.

ØTest uncoated and coated fabrics to ensure quality standards.

ØPerform precise colour matching and make necessary corrections to meet quality standards.

ØUpdate and record test results accurately.

ØMaintain the Works Order Spreadsheet.

ØProvide support in the mixing room as needed.

ØHandle and organise fabric swatches

The Person

ØStrong proficiency in colour matching and correction techniques.

ØPractical experience in textiles or paint manufacturing in a similar/ laboratory setting

ØThe ideal candidate will have experience using UV-VIS & X-rite Spectrophotometer.

ØAdditionally, the ideal candidate will have experience using AX Dynamics software & iControl software (NOT ESSENTIAL)

ØCompetence in using Microsoft Excel and Word.

ØExcellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

ØAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

ØStrong communication and time management skills.
