Job Title: Financial Accountant

We are seeking a skilled and technically proficient Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone from a small practice background or idustry who has worked their way up from a transactional role who has a strong grasp of financial principles, particularly in areas of acuity and liquidity. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Accounts Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including reconciliations, management of ledgers, and ensuring the accuracy of debits and credits.
- Liquidity Management: Monitor and report on liquidity positions, providing insights and recommendations to support financial decision-making.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines within the financial services sector.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Audit Support: Work closely with auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanation of financial records.
- Technical Support: Provide technical accounting support to the finance team, ensuring that all financial practices are in line with best practices and current standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the financial function and contribute to the implementation of these enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Part-Qualified, Finalist, or Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience: Experience in a small practice setting is preferred, with a strong technical accounting background.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly acuity and liquidity, as well as practical experience with debits and credits.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with financial services regulations and guidelines.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software and tools; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable with hybrid working arrangements and able to manage tasks effectively both remotely and in-person.
Location and Working Arrangements:
This role offers hybrid working, allowing you to balance time between our offices in the Midlands and remote working. We are open to applicants from across the Midlands region.
