Job Title: CAD Technician

Our client, a successful and respected property consultancy, is looking to appoint a CAD Technician to join their offices in Horley. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support surveyors and planners in delivering a diverse range of projects.
Role Overview
As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in the Planning department, providing essential support through the preparation of architectural drawings, plans, and visualisations. This position is ideal for someone passionate about planning and architecture, seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drawing Preparation: Create high-quality architectural drawings, plans, and visualizations using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits and measured surveys to prepare scaled plans and elevations of existing buildings.
- Client and Consultant Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and local authorities to facilitate coordination throughout the planning process.
- Planning Applications: Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications.
Key Skills and Requirements
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Planning and Construction Knowledge: Understanding of building construction. Awareness of UK planning policies, regulations, and best practices is desirable.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas to various audiences.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed recommendations.
- Health and Safety: Awareness of health and safety requirements in the office and on site.
