Job Overview

We are currently recruiting forA Security Officer to join our passionate and driven team based at our client's site in the Kidderminster Area. You will undertake duties including Identify the reason for the visit, Provide access and support to customers if appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with

all
those visiting the library during Libraries Unlocked hours.

  • Be visible and accessible to customers at the main door to the building.
  • Focus on the customer in a friendly, positive, and confident manner, using initiative.
  • Assist and support customers to positively position Libraries Unlocked and access DWP services.
  • Be responsive to customer demand, multi-tasking to achieve results in at busy times.
  • Provide directional guidance, but not specific business advice.
  • Keep in regular contact with other Security Officers for DWP by two-way radio or other communication systems where preferred by the site. Each Customer Service Team will need to decide on a method of alerting each other to cope with situations/ incidents as and when they arise.
  • To secure the building or parts of the building as required and requested at the end of shift.
  • In all contacts the postholder will be required to present a good image of the County Council and DWP as well as maintaining constructive relationships.
  • To fulfil health and safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the company's health and safety policy and health and safety management plans.
  • To comply with the company's policies, management plans and procedures.

About You:

  • To be aware of any Health and Safety requirements when in the building
  • To be aware of all services offered by those operating within the building.
  • Work closely with the library and DWP managers and team

The Welcome person should have a clear understanding of:

  • All services available
  • Current risk assessments for both DWP and the Library Service
  • Current behaviour guidelines for both DWP and the Library Service

The Welcome person should have:

  • Good communication skills, including a strong level of spoken English.
