Interim Contracts Monitoring Officer
Location: South of England – regular office or in Borough attendance required
Length: 6 months
IR35 Status: Inside
We are currently working with a District Council who are seeking a Contracts Monitoring Officer to play an integral role in the day to day management of their Watse and Green spaces contracts.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Contracts Monitoring Officer:
- To be responsible for the daily operational monitoring of the Waste Management Contract, through monitoring inspections and working collaboratively with the contractor
- To ensure the contractor is fully complying with all aspects of the councils requirements and contractual terms
- Carry out routine monitoring inspections to quantify contractor performance, and report on findings
- Proactively monitor the performance of the contractors (e.g. bin placement) and resolve performance issues
- To draft suitable responsible to enquires and complaints received from Elected Members, colleagues and members of the public
- Engaging with the community regarding missed waste collection, New bins, Contaminated bins, New developments
- Work with the provider to resolve any operational issues within their assigned part of the borough and to promptly escalate internally any specific areas of concern or risk
- To liaise with members of the public, investigating and responding to contract-related queries and service issues
Key Skills of the Interim Contracts Monitoring Officer:
- Strong contract monitoring experience
- Ability to communicate well with Members, Senior Management & officers, contractors and members of the public
- Strong ability to manage own work load and Diary
- Excellent customer service skills particularly whilst under pressure
- Ability to work independently and with own initiative and as part of a team
