A Law firm in London are looking for a Compliance and Data Security Officer to join their Risk and Compliance team, on a full time basis with hybrid working.
The Compliance and Data Security Officer will support the Head of Risk and Compliance in the delivery of the firm's regulatory and governance compliance with an emphasis on data protection and security.
They will support the wider Risk & Compliance Team in on-boarding clients, conflict checking and involvement with Risk projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Being the main point of contact for data and information security issues. Reporting breaches and assessing the requirement to report to the regulators and escalating such issues to the HoD.
- Responsible for maintaining the data retention policy and maintaining the information retention management process.
- Where necessary being able to cover for the client on-boarding team in undertaking on-boarding checks of clients.
- Undertaking conflicts checks with a high degree of accuracy and escalating issues as necessary to the Head of Risk & Compliance
- Assisting members of the Risk & Compliance team with research projects and day-to-day compliance with AML regulatory matters as they arise.
Experience
- The ideal candidate would have a minimum of three years data compliance experience and all round compliance knowledge.
- Will have worked in a professional services environment or financial services
- Must have knowledge of DPA and GDPR and practical experience of data breach
- Knowledge and understanding of the UK Money Laundering Regulations
- Knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules a benefit
- Knowledge and understanding of conflicts of interest
- A process driven approach with the ability to escalate issues to the Head of Risk & Compliance where necessary.
