Right Now Group are working with a Global Freight Forwarder based in Birmingham, assisting them in their search for an experienced Transport Planner. The business is looking to grow their headcount in Transport Operations, and they feel this is a key position for them to bring in additional assistance.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating as a Transport Planner for a Freight Forwarder. They will have good geographical knowledge of the UK and have experienced planning transport for Nationwide delivery and collection.
Responsibilities of a Transport Planner:
- Allocation of Haulage and day to day management
- Complete all requirements for planning of Transport, ensuring to balance cost and service requirements at all times
- Adapt and consider alternative requirements throughout
- Develop relationships with suppliers, focal points and shipping lines
- Supplier KPI monitoring
Requirements of a Transport Planner:
- 2+ years Freight Forwarding / Transport Planning experience
- Excellent Planning and Attention to detail
- Excellent communication and influencing ability
- Great written and verbal communication
Salary: £30,000
Location: Birmingham
Shift: Mon-Fri 8.30am - 5.30pm
