Salary: £60,000 plus

Location: Hybrid - 4 days office (Newham), 1 day home

Are you an experienced Building Safety & Compliance Manager looking to make a difference?

Join a well-established housing company in Newham and play a crucial role in maintaining and developing their Building Safety and Compliance service.

Role Overview:

You will oversee a growing portfolio of residential projects across LB Newham and contiguous LA areas, ensuring full compliance with all Building & Fire Safety Regulations. Your top priority will be ensuring the safety of our residents by conducting timely inspections and monitoring relevant contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

" Ensure all buildings meet health and safety requirements and comply with prevailing legislation for residential, commercial properties, and offices.

" Lead the Group's approach to the new Building Safety regime.

" Manage fire safety strategies for each building.

" Initiate and monitor inspection programs in line with regulatory requirements.

" Conduct regular compliance inspections and maintain accurate records.

" Produce monthly and quarterly reports on service delivery and budget performance.

" Advise the Executive and Board on sector developments and regulations.

" Procure, project manage, supervise, and coordinate contractor work related to Building Safety and Compliance.

" Inspect completed work, address deficiencies, and produce detailed reports.

" Prepare tender documents for maintenance management contracts.

" Develop Asset Management systems and records for Building Safety and compliance oversight.

" Collaborate with the finance team on planning, budgeting, and forecasting spending.

" Work with the new homes team on future development and project handovers.

" Ensure efficient procurement practices for maximum value for money.

" Respond to emergencies and urgent issues appropriately.

" Develop annual budgets and assist with service charge forecasts.

" Lead all aspects of health and safety.

" Ensure timely raising of work orders and manage remediation works post-compliance inspections.

" Engage with residents to inform them of any arising issues.

" Collaborate closely with the Asset & Facilities Manager to meet all service requirements.

Knowledge and Experience:

" 5+ years in Building/Fire Safety and Compliance in a residential management setting.

" Hold a Construction, Project Management, or Building Safety qualification.

" In-depth understanding of current and future Building Safety requirements.

" Excellent organizational capability in a dynamic Property Management environment.

" Strong track record of delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
