About the role

We are seeking a creative and data-driven content strategist to join our Digital team as we embark on our digital transformation journey. The content strategist will play a pivotal role in shaping our content strategy for Boots.com and ensuring it aligns with our brand, resonates with our customers, and drives engagement and consistency across the customer journey.

Our ideal candidate will thrive working in a cross-matrix organisation to build structure and high-quality process that elevates our content on Boots.com. This person should be excited about working directly with various stakeholders to drive organic growth as well as creating a seamless customer experience across Pharmacy, Retail and Healthcare Services.Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with our digital strategy and brand identity.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to optimise content for organic traffic generation.
  • An in-depth understanding of how content influences each stage of the customer buying journey.
  • Work in collaboration with Trading teams, Digital Experience, SEO and Merchandising to support overarching go- to-market strategy.
  • Proficient with content management systems and various marketing channels, along with an understanding of which content formats are most effective across different customer touchpoints
  • Utilise analytics tools including GA4 and Contentsquare to make informed data led content decisions.
  • Conduct audience research to understand customer needs, preferences, and behaviours across Health and Beauty.
  • Translate our customer personas into fully fledged customer journeys online with a strong focus on customer centricity.
  • Work autonomously on projects which require input and support from cross functional departments including Product, UX, UI, IT, Marketing and Digital.

What you'll need to have

These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, or a related role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce sector.
  • Strong understanding of content marketing principles and best practices.
  • Proven track record of building high-quality processes that enhance content and brand visibility across key commercial categories.
  • Experience in defining and tracking key metrics related to content performance (e.g., traffic, engagement, funnel analysis, conversions, and retention).
  • Proficient in using different CMS platforms, PIM, GA4, Enterprise SEO tooling and Contentsquare.
  • Experience in managing complex content and platform migrations with proven success.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage agency partners.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Understanding of user experience (UX) and its impact on SEO
  • Product management experience working on large digital transformation projects.
  • Contentsquare certified
  • Familiarity with AI driven content creation tools.
  • Experience working across enterprise CMS platforms
