Pay Rate: £15 - £17 per hour
Contract length: 6 - 12 month initial contract - Potential to be made permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 09.00am - 17.00pm office based
Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for an Indirect Material Junior Buyer on behalf of a global company in the Transport/ Mobility industry. The position is onsite Monday - Friday and is an initial 6-12 Month contract that may potentially be extended or made Permanent.
The successful Junior Buyer will join the Team based at the newly built Goole factory. The Junior Planner will build relationships across the factory and within the Senior Management team, and will handle all indirect materials purchasing as well as some Strategic Buying. This role has potential to grow and expand and is an exciting time to be joining an ever advancing global company.
Responsibilities of the Junior Buyer:

Procurement Activities:

Assist in the sourcing and purchasing of indirect materials such as office supplies, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) items, and other non-production related goods and services. Place orders.

New Requisitions

Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and other procurement documents.

Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.

Strategic tenders - working on electronic platforms

Supplier Management:
-
Maintain and develop relationships with current and new suppliers.

Evaluate supplier performance and manage supplier compliance with company policies and standards.

Assist in resolving issues related to supplier performance and delivery.

Cost Management:

Assist in analysing and managing costs to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.

Conduct market research to stay informed about pricing trends, supply chain risks, and industry developments.

Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of indirect materials to avoid stockouts.

Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to manage inventory effectively.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier information, and inventory data.

Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.

Compliance and Best Practices:

Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement processes, and relevant regulations.

Assist in the continuous improvement of procurement practices and procedures.

Build relationships between colleagues and senior management teams

Become the go to person for any Indirect Materials issues and handle any problems in a timely professional manner with minimal effect on the wider business
Qualifications/ Experience required for the Junior Buyer

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Business Administration, desirable but not essential

Experience:
-
2-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. A factory/ manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems is an advantage.
