About the Role:

We are looking to recruit a Transport Administration Assistant for our Avonmouth site. The ideal candidate will have experience in working in the following construction sectors:

  • Customer service
  • Administration
  • Transport – Strong knowledge of Bristol and Surrounding areas

Experience in Transport is not essential, we are willing to train the right candidate, however, the candidate should have a strong knowledge of Bristol and the surrounding areas. It is more important to have a good attitude with a willingness to help/learn, with a professional phone manner to deal with a variety of circumstances/enquiries.

As a Transport assistant, you will be required to assist the Transport & Customer Service Manager with duties to include:

Overview:

  • Giving excellent customer service and keeping customers updated with orders.
  • Managing and responding to queries over the phone and via email promptly.
  • Liaising between partner depots and ensuring seamless processes.
  • Communicating with customers on status of orders and deliveries.
  • Booking delivery dates for orders, processing customer orders via an online delivery portal
  • Updating key spreadsheets i.e. Monthly agency usage, PAYE and Self-employed driver hours, ETA delivery spreadsheets
  • Be able to liaise with drivers, and assist the Transport Manager with all daily tasks required
  • You will be organised and efficient - this is a fast paced environment.
  • Some finance related aspects of such a role, i.e. familiar with costing jobs, liaising with Accounts on any information they require, providing quotations
  • Processing delivery paperwork & manifests in accordance with daily timescales

  • Excellent Administrative skills, with attention to detail
  • Transport experience would be a bonus
  • Operational experience would be a bonus

Work Schedules / Other:

  • Travel Requirements: Core office hours are 08:00 – 13:00 hrs, Monday – Friday
  • Office based role- On-site Parking
