Programme Delivery Lead

Anticipated contract length/Duration: 12 months (with a potention for extension)

Location: Swindon and remote (Split TBC), England, UK

Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking a talented Programme Delivery Lead who will be responsible for ensuring the terms of reference for successful outcome are fully agreed between the organisation and the customer, the internal team and customer work in an efficient manner across geographies, maintaining the progress to plan, managing change, commercial management of the programme and risk forecasting, mitigation and containment. The successful candidate will be running a team of UK-based and offshore migration factory engineering, testing and PM/PMO team.

What you will do:

  • Operate at the Heads of Function and C-Suite level with the ability to articulate challenging and complex subjects into everyday language verbally and in written format.
  • Influence and motivate change within a customer's organisation with the ability to tackle and escalate issues and dependencies to customers that motivates them to take actions.

The qualifications you will need:

  • Experience leading mainframe modernisation and migration programmes.
  • Experience working with IBM and Fujitsu Cobol based mainframes.
  • Ideally working in the Financial Services sector, though not essential.
  • Proven track record in delivering successful migrations and code conversions for legacy technologies running COBOL and proprietary databases such as IDMSX, IDMS and variants.
  • Awareness of industry offerings and tools commonly used for mainframe modernisation with their pros and cons depending on the type of project to be undertaken.
  • Ability to demonstrate a history of shaping, leading and running migration teams that are dedicated or involve hybrid work locations.
  • Collaborative nature and keen to nurture talent.
