Do you have experience working within a buying / procurement environment or are you looking for pursue a long term career within these areas? The Recruitment Co. are currently supporting one of our key clients in their search for a new member within their buying department and this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Role:

  • Manage product enquiries from internal and external customers regarding profit availability
  • Using databases, national websites and accumulated data, research each product enquiry to identify which countries a product is available in, taking into consideration requested brands as well as viable alternatives
  • Liaise with the buyers to obtain pricing and availability information on products from initial query
  • Collate all responses and respond to query originator
  • Manage and maintain databases and spreadsheets in relation to live and historic queries
  • Own all enquiries from start to finish for designated customers
  • Manage cost of goods and payment terms for all products/suppliers, ensuring best terms are obtained for the business
  • Obtain quotes and required information, and research thoroughly all options for new product requests.
  • Build new, and manage and nurture existing supplier relationships to ensure the best outcomes for the business
  • Place Purchase Orders in accordance with agreed stock policies
  • Manage outstanding supplier orders and shipments
  • Analyse and review data in relation to availability, stock holding and supplier lead times for countries, and take action where required to resolve issues
  • Regularly review cost prices, ensuring most profitable outcome is achieved for the business
  • Source new products in conjunction with the Product Research process
  • Resolve any order discrepancies in conjunction with the Finance or Quality teams
  • Management of the quality, cost and delivery performance of allocated suppliers

The Person:

  • High level of perseverance
  • Thorough in approach with a high attention to detail
  • High level of computer literacy, to include all main Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight schedules
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Able and willing to take ownership and use initiative where required to see tasks through to the end
