Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head of Art to work in an Ofsted 'good' mixed secondary school in Tottenham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing Head of Art or an experienced teacher of Art who would like some responsibility and step into a Head of Department role.
ABOUT THE HEAD OF ART JOB:
- Oversee the planning, preparation, and delivery of the Art curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Lead and manage a team of Art teachers, providing support and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies within Art to engage and inspire students.
- The school boasts an art block with light airy studios, well-equipped pottery and a media editing suite with state-of-the-art equipment.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and achievements of students, ensuring high standards are maintained.
- Organise and coordinate art exhibitions, displays, and extracurricular activities.
- Manage the Art department budget and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments and senior leadership to promote the importance of Art education.
FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE HEAD OF ART JOB:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Art or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching Art at the secondary level.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for Art and a commitment to fostering creativity in students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
