Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be representing a prestigious manufacturer servicing the construction sector, who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the London area. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering projects and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, as well as developing a deep understanding of their products.

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly examine tender documents to determine precise requirements and highlight potential risks.
  • Produce a detailed work schedule and quantify the Bill of Quantities.
  • Conduct site visits, document observations and take relevant notes and photographs and discuss with the Contracts Manager. Incorporate findings into tender pricing and review information accordingly.
  • Evaluate budgets and allowances with the Project Manager to determine if the construction period can be reduced.
  • Oversee the procurement process for sub-contract packages, labour-only packages, and suppliers.
  • Produce budgets for labour, plant equipment, and materials.
  • Generate forecast cost reports.
  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations and invoices, ensuring all supporting documentation for claims and variations is included.
  • Handle variations and ensure all additional work is accurately recorded according to the contract, maintaining thorough records for complete revenue recovery.
  • Compile, submit, and negotiate final account agreements.
  • Create sub-contract documents to aid the appointment of sub-contractors and settle sub-contract final accounts.
  • Attend sub-contractor and pre-contract meetings along with the Contracts Manager.
  • Liaising with sub-contractors to resolve queries.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite.
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to manage your time effectively, with the ability to set objectives and prioritise workloads for yourself and others.
  • Able to demonstrate commercial and financial acumen.
  • Prepared to travel as and when required and hold a valid driving license.
