Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Community Respiratory Service. This role involves delivering high-quality physiotherapy interventions to patients with long-term respiratory conditions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy. The successful candidate will work independently in community settings, providing therapeutic assessments and individualised treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy
  • Conduct therapeutic assessments for patients with long-term respiratory conditions
  • Deliver patient education talks for pulmonary rehab programmes under senior therapist guidance
  • Work independently during community visits in health centres and home settings
  • Collaborate with MDT, patients, carers, and external agencies
  • Undertake evidence-based audits and contribute to service development
  • Participate in research and provide supervision to junior staff and students

Key Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration and CSP membership
  • NHS experience with a range of placements
  • Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills with patients and professionals
  • Familiarity with respiratory physiotherapy assessment tools and outcome measures
  • Willingness to travel within the borough during working hours
