Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Community Respiratory Service. This role involves delivering high-quality physiotherapy interventions to patients with long-term respiratory conditions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy. The successful candidate will work independently in community settings, providing therapeutic assessments and individualised treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy
- Conduct therapeutic assessments for patients with long-term respiratory conditions
- Deliver patient education talks for pulmonary rehab programmes under senior therapist guidance
- Work independently during community visits in health centres and home settings
- Collaborate with MDT, patients, carers, and external agencies
- Undertake evidence-based audits and contribute to service development
- Participate in research and provide supervision to junior staff and students
Key Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration and CSP membership
- NHS experience with a range of placements
- Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication skills with patients and professionals
- Familiarity with respiratory physiotherapy assessment tools and outcome measures
- Willingness to travel within the borough during working hours
