Job Title: Private Client Solicitor
Salary: Competitive – £40k to £70k (dependant on experience)
Location: Canterbury or Thanet
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with my client, a leading law firm based in Canterbury. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Private Client Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or non-admitted Private Client practitioner to join a growing Private Client department.
Duties include:
- Manage a mixed caseload that includes wills, probate, and lasting powers of attorney.
- To promote the firm and develop a client base.
- To manage all work allocated by the head of department or other partner in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm's Office Manual.
- Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner dealing with any complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- To maintain up to date company and commercial awareness sufficient to relevantly promote the image, ethos, services, and interests of the company.
- To ensure good working relationships within the firm and with external institutions and organisations.
- To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording.
- In close liaison with the Accounts department to have overall responsibility for credit control on own matters.
- To maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm.
- To provide advice, guidance, development, and supervision of support staff within their delegated area of responsibility.
- To take responsibility for and attend to self-development including compliance with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society.
The successful candidate will have:
- Prior experience working in a busy Private Client department.
- Experience managing a mixed caseload that includes wills, probate, and lasting powers of attorney. Experience of trust matters, and court of protection matters would also be beneficial but is not essential.
- Knowledge of Legal software packages
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with clients
- The ability to exercise judgement and initiative in their work escalating issues in a timely and appropriate way
Package:
- £40k to £70k – dependant on experience
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
