School Librarian / School Library Assistant with experience of working with and motivating young people to engage, excellent communication skills, who is a champion of literacy is required to join a well-established Academy Trust based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.
Training Provided - Whilst previous experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential for this role as training will be provided.

As the School Librarian / School Library Assistant you will play a pivotal role in:
- Developing and curating a dynamic library collection: You'll select engaging and age-appropriate resources that cater to diverse student interests and support the curriculum across all subjects
- Promoting a love of reading: You'll design and deliver engaging programs that encourage students to become lifelong readers, fostering a culture of exploration and discovery
- Collaborating with teachers: You'll work closely with faculty to integrate information literacy skills and library resources into the curriculum, enhancing learning across all subjects
- Providing research support: You'll guide students in developing research skills and navigating information sources, empowering them to become independent learners
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive space: You'll cultivate a vibrant library environment that fosters a love of learning and encourages students to see the library as a hub for exploration and collaboration
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
- High level of communication skills - verbal and written
- A champion of Literacy
- Team player with enthusiasm, perseverance, flexibility and adaptability
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
