The role holder at the CAA will focus on revenue modelling and analysis. They'll collaborate with business areas to identify revenue opportunities, enhance planning accuracy, and influence financial performance. The role provides advice to managers and operates within CAA frameworks.

Additionally, the role involves working closely with colleagues across departments, assessing financial risks, and recommending funding structure changes. The role holder leads charges consultation and coordinates implementation. They also collaborate with the strategic revenue team, ensuring effective financial planning and communication with industry stakeholders. As secretary of the Finance & Service Forum, the role holder facilitates dialogue on financial and service-related matters, while also providing support to the wider team through customer queries and accounting advice. Day to day of the role:

  • Ensure an appropriate statutory charging structure is properly maintained for existing and new activities
  • Providing a business partnering function:
  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues around the organisation
  • Financial modelling of revenue streams with insight from this informing planning and forecasting activity and providing insights to the business
  • Provide expertise to colleagues across the business on the CAA Schemes of Charges
  • Interpreting and communicating trends in order to influence decision making
  • Providing financial analysis, guidance, and recommendation to the business management
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including industry stakeholders and CAA's UK auditors

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • The jobholder will be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA), finalist, or equivalent, with a proven track record in a dynamic commercial environment
  • Technical knowledge and application of IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers is essential for the role
  • Strong analytical and presentational skills, with a desire to continually expand their skill set and seek to improve their output
  • Prior track record of providing financial analysis and advice to non-financial managers
  • Have an exceptional level of business systems literacy, experience of management accounting / business partnering, and sound written and oral skills
  • Have strong inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to disseminate a wide variety of complex information to senior managers, and other staff, in both oral and written format, that is intelligible to all using a variety of techniques. It is therefore essential the post holder can gain credibility and forge strong working relationships with colleagues
  • Must quickly gain a detailed knowledge of the Business
  • The job holder will require exceptional organisational skills, should be able to prioritise and structure their own workload and be used to working to tight deadlines
