Youth Moves Bristol Chief Executive Officer

Up to £ 60k depending on experience

Location: Youth Moves Bristol (currently at The Park Centre, moving to '224', once it is built).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead Youth Moves as it's new CEO, a grass roots youth work charity with a long and rich history of working in the community as they collaborate with the national charity OnSide to open '224' - South Bristol's very own Youth Zone.

This is a multifaceted role, from overseeing the construction of the new state-of-the-art building as well as working with and leading a highly respected and dynamic organisation. That will mean growing the team from c.20 staff to over 70, while also maintaining their existing vital youth work provision at the Park Centre.

Once the build is complete, the role will be about helping everyone settle into their new "home" leading the organisation through an exciting opening programme, ensuring the culture of '224' is strong, inclusive and embeds their values from the beginning.

Key responsibilities:

  • To work with the Chairperson and Board to lead the on-going development of the Youth Zone strategy and plan.
  • To generate and deliver a robust funding plan, which will enable the Youth Zone to operate with an appropriate level of reserves.
  • To play an active role in the fundraising efforts as a key figurehead and high-profile figure in the campaign
  • To establish a vision and inspire the team - helping them to be effective as individuals and together; supporting them to deliver a wide range of ever- changing and improving activities for the young people of South Bristol and surrounding areas.
  • To provide clear leadership.
  • To work with other service providers, community and youth sector partners, generating added benefits for young people.
  • To demonstrate the OnSide Youth Zones Network Values and have a clear commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

In terms of the work, it is strategic and requires effectiveness at a high level, yet at the same time demands very detailed and hands-on management, especially critical as they go through this period of growth.

Strong people skills and clear vision will be required to successfully lead Youth Moves into a new era, increasing in impact and scale while maintaining the core values that they are built upon.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for the next step in their career or for an experienced Chief Executive to take on a new challenge.

If you would like an informal discussion regarding the role on offer and receive the briefing pack, please contact Vanessa Moon or Sandy Hinks Completed applications with CVs and EoI should quote reference MC2452. Closing date Midnight, Sunday 15th September.
