IT Helpdesk

Our highly successful client in Cardiff are looking to recruit a Helpdesk Advisor to join their growing technical support team.

This role would suit candidates with a strong technical experience of IT hardware and software, ideally from an IT repair, managed service, or helpdesk background.

Location: Due to location candidates will need to have access to own transport.
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shifts: Shift patterns run on a 24/7 basis, so you will work a mixture of earlies, days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Evening, night shifts will be worked from home.

Salary: Base salary is £22,310; however, shift uplift will increase the salary significantly to up to 27-28k.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st Line Tech support to a range of customers experiencing technical issues with their equipment.
  • Taking calls from customers, carrying out remote technical vetting, fault rectification on IT equipment.
  • Where a remote fix is not possible, identify and order parts required by field service engineering team.
  • Provide technical support to field service engineers on a broad range of IT equipment. Keeping customers informed at all times of progress of work.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Good attitude and communication style when dealing with customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent PC user including Microsoft package.
  • PC and peripheral equipment (hardware and software) experience.
  • Professional, logical, and methodical approach to work.
  • Flexible and willing to work outside of business hours.
