Training and Development Manager

We offer a range of services, from insulation, solar panels, and heat pump programs to innovative low-carbon heating solutions. To support the fast growth of our Green Funding Solutions (GFS) business we are looking for a Training and Development Manager to ensure our internal colleagues are provided with with the right training material and plans, supported in their development, and our external stakeholders are assisted in defining how they carry out key activities to the highest of standards. You will keep up to date with business priorities and ensure that plans and programmes are updated to reflect current projects and ensure our workforce is always technically able and competent with the right soft skills to support our customers.

You'll complete a complete gap analysis of our training needs to ensure we're meeting all of the mandatory and desirable industry requirements. In addition, you'll need to review current GFS training materials, making improvements where possible, and creating new learning and development programmes.

Here's what else you'll be doing

  • Have accountability and management of the strategy for a best-in-class L&D function within Green Funding Solutions
  • Develop and maintain the training needs across GFS
  • Ensure all GFS colleagues have the necessary skills & knowledge to exceed and grow in their roles and for our contractors to fully understand what they need to do to work with us
  • Deliver training programmes in a coordinated way to ensure that all colleagues and contractors have the appropriate skills & knowledge to enable delivery of Government schemes such as Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) and Home Upgrade Grant (HUG).
  • Assess Apprenticeship programmes and establish participation opportunities across GFS
  • Enlist the support of the appropriate internal/external experts to use the latest learning tools/techniques, incl. training deployment methods, self-serve knowledge portal, technology/apps
  • Continuously review technology and internal/external resources used for delivery of training to make sure it is engaging and simple to use
  • Work closely with the HSSE team to roll-out colleague HSSE training requirements across GFS and review the HSSE training matrix to determine mandatory and desirable requirements for all levels of roles.

**What we need from you

  • Demonstratable Learning and Development programme management
  • Experience of effective relationship building at all levels within organisations
  • Able to communicate confidently with internal & external stakeholders
  • Experience of developing technical training requirements for building training plans and programmes
  • Experience in supporting growth of apprenticeship programmes within a business from scratch.
  • Computer literate and proficient in all Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
