Pure are supporting a distribution company who resides in Witham in their search for a shift/weekend Warehouse Supervisor on a full time permanent basis.
Various days in the week and be able to work on Saturdays & Sundays
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:
-
Lead and manage a team of warehouse operators.
-
Encourage a culture of continued improvement within the shift.
-
Train new and existing staff in warehouse best practices, especially the use of scanning guns.
-
Safety and Security:
-
Ensure the safety and security of staff, building, and premises during the shift.
-
Supervise the loading/unloading of trailers and container vehicles, maintaining safety and security of the load.
-
Conduct necessary checks to ensure vehicle/equipment safety and legality.
-
Promote all Health & Safety requirements as directed by the senior management team.

Report any damage to mechanical resources immediately to the Warehouse Manager.

Take responsibility for personal physical fitness for daily duties and report any changes in physical circumstances in writing immediately.

Operations:
-
Ensure all paperwork related to the shift is completed promptly and accurately by all staff members.

Carry out a detailed handover of the shift to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
-
Report and investigate any issues surrounding load planning and delivery to the Warehouse Manager or deputy.
-
Operate vehicle systems such as fork trucks, working platforms, and dock levellers safely and in line with company procedures.

Customer Relations:
-
Act as a company ambassador when dealing with customers, ensuring their satisfaction is a priority

Maintenance:
-
Ensure the warehouse and yard areas are kept clean and tidy in line with Health and Safety practices.

Report any disciplinary issues to the Warehouse Manager/Assistant Manager.

Be responsible for daily Health and Safety in the workplace, including reporting any accidents or near misses.
Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

Strong management skills to ensure the smooth running of the shift.

Numeracy and literacy skills for accurate inventory control and reporting.

A "can do" attitude to foster a collaborative team environment.

Desirable:

Experience in a similar supervisory role within a warehouse setting.

Familiarity with using scanning guns and other warehouse technology.
