Finance Administrator

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Exchequer Assistant to join the Finance Team at Lincolnshire Police Force.

This is a temporary full time role working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday and will be based at their headquarters in Nettleham.

DUE TO THE POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.

The purpose of this role is to assist the Exchequer Services Manager in the provision of a professional exchequer service to personnel and creditors of the Authority.

CORE WORK AREAS:

1. To process creditor invoices in an accurate and timely manner to ensure that creditors are paid within agreed time parameters.
2. To undertake HQ Cashier duties
3. To process petty cash returns and ensure all costs are appropriately supported in a timely manner
4. To undertake supplier statement reconciliation as required
5. To process Purchase Orders and where applicable make purchases
6. To book travel and hotel accommodation using the travel system and deal with any queries with these
7. To resolve exchequer related queries in a prompt and polite manner.
8. To ensure that all exchequer processes are completed within predetermined timetables.
9. To promote best practice in exchequer matters across the Force, providing training, advice and guidance to personnel in Force.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Finance / Business studies or payroll related qualification
  2. Demonstrates cash handling and/or banking experience
  3. Ability to develop strong working relationships with members of staff
  4. Demonstrates skills / knowledge of planning, co-ordinating and prioritising
  5. Demonstrates skills related to financial numeracy
  6. Knowledge of a computerised financial system (training given on Force system)
  7. Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  8. Knowledge of V. A. T. and Income Tax related issues
