Marketing Events Executive

Reed Business Support are working with a globally recognised legal firm that are on the hunt for a Marketing/BD and Events Executive.

The role holder will support the MBD Manager in the delivery of the firm's International Marketing and Business Development (MBD) strategy in the UK, through the execution of business plans specifically for the Edinburgh office and by engaging with clients and sectors. They will also work with the Client Relationship Manager for one of the firm's key clients, supporting with marketing and business development activities.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the firm's MBD Managers to execute and implement business plans, the UK Clients and Sectors strategy, and various related workstream deliverables.
  • Manage the entire event delivery process, from initial scoping and objective setting to execution and analysis/ROI reporting.
  • Support with internal and external communications, including coordinating with our local PR agency and managing social media, digital posters, event invitations, news alerts, press releases, advertising, legal directory submissions, awards entries, and marketing collateral. Exceptional writing skills are crucial.
  • Lead on preparing location-specific pitches, capability statements, and materials for client business development meetings. This involves scoping, drafting, and project management, often under tight deadlines.
  • Support with coordinating sponsorship campaigns, ensuring maximum value and return. This includes managing internal and external communications including social media.
  • Support with various business development activities, such as working with intermediaries, conducting client listening exercises, targeting specific sectors, and assisting in new business generation.
  • Support with managing and promoting the firm's corporate partnerships and business memberships.
  • Help track budgets and report on spend.

The post holder must:

  • Have experience working within a corporate environment or, ideally, within Professional Services. •
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial awareness in both approach and delivery.
  • Be able to operate on their own initiative, owning and executing projects, seeking input from managers as and when needed.
  • Have experience delivering high-profile events, from large scale conferences to private dinners.
  • Be IT literate and have experience of Excel, PowerPoint, Word 2010 and Outlook. Experience using InterAction/CRM systems would be beneficial.
