Head of Operations

We are delighted to be partnering with a well known advisory firm with a huge presence in the North East to recruit several key leadership positions into their growing business.

As Head of Operations, you will play a key role in helping the firm deliver its business plan from an operational, cultural and client perspective. Reporting to the Management Team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our day-to-day operations and the leadership of the Administration team. Ensuring our Core Values are embedded in the firms working practices you will seek new ways to transform our operations output for the benefit of key stakeholders in the business and their valued clients. Benchmarking performance and processes with informed use of KPI's you will conceive and manage projects which innovate and help transform the way we do business.

The responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the firm and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Leading and supporting the Administration team, which includes Reception, Infrastructure and Facilities, and ensuring that they deliver high-quality service for employees and clients
  • Leading on the appointment of external suppliers of services or products and reviewing existing contracts
  • Coordinating and facilitating communication and collaboration across the firm
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement and efficiency in the firm's operations and processes
  • Managing the firm's health and safety framework, liaising with the Head of Compliance where necessary
  • Determine and deliver a coordinated IT plan across the business which will fully meet the current and future needs of the firm and prioritise the individual needs of our departments
  • Handling any operational (non-client) issues or complaints that may arise and escalating them as appropriate

Required experience, skills and attributes

The main attributes we look for, but will not be limited to, are:

  • At least three years of experience in a senior operational role within a professional services environment
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a diverse and high-performing team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to plan, implement and monitor operational processes and initiatives that align with the firm's vision and goals
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, resources and risks
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues and challenges
  • A high level of professionalism, integrity and commitment to quality and excellence
