Job Title: Tree Surgeon and Instructor (0.6 FTE)

Location: Enfield with travel to other sites

Contract Type: Part-time, permanent

Hours per week: 21.6 hours, 3 days per week

Salary: £38,818pa inclusive of London Weighting pro-rata

We are excited to announce an opening for a Tree Surgeon and Instructor at our institution. As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering instruction and assessing students in our Arboriculture programs. Your duties will include demonstrating tree surgery techniques on practical sites accessible to the college. You'll collaborate closely with the gardens team and academic staff to maintain high standards within the college woodlands, farm, and arboretum.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Hold Qualification in Arboriculture and Forestry.
  • Comfortably teach topics across various course levels, including Tree Felling, Climbing and Rescue, Practical Tree Work Skills (Pruning and Rigging), and Tree Identification.
  • Support students with assignments and research.
  • Bring industry experience to provide up-to-date knowledge and skills to learners.
  • Opportunity for support in becoming an NPTC assessor and LANTRA instructor.
  • Stay informed about the latest climbing and rigging techniques.
