Valuations Manager (Infrastructure & Renewables)

Warner Scott are partnered with a mid-market professional services firm who are looking to expand their Renewables and Infrastructure Valuations team with an Assistant Manager or Manager. This an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a specialised renewables role and become an expert in the field - this firm has an excellent track record of progression and career development, as well as a renowned employee-centred culture.

  • The role requires a keen interest in- and understanding of the global climate crisis, interest in the renewable energy industry and its advancement, and practical experience of valuation concepts that are fundamental to the role. Experience in the valuation of wider infrastructure sector assets (e.g. PPP/PFI, railroad, ports, toll roads, utilities) is a plus, but not essential.
  • The successful candidate will have good analytical skills and understand the key areas of finance and valuation, as well as the ability to produce written reports to a high standard, ready for director or partner review. Excel and Powerpoint skills will be key.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing valuation models using a range of techniques (discounted cash flow, market multiples and cost).
  • The role will require the individual to proactively manage project timetables, reporting to- and working directly with senior colleagues, as well as managing junior staff.
  • The role requires strong financial analysis skills with the successful candidate able to identify and investigate key issues in a valuation, challenging information provided where necessary. Excellent excel skills and an ability to undertake accurate and relevant analysis and interrogate financial models are essential.
  • In addition, the successful candidate will be able to quickly build up a strong rapport with management.
  • The role will provide an opportunity to work with an experienced director/partner-led team with exposure to the renewables & wider infrastructure industries.

Technical Knowledge And Professional Qualifications

  • Excellent academic background, including a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA / CAIA / ICAEW / ACCA).
  • Significant amount of valuation experience gained ideally from another professional services firm.
  • Proficiency in a number of valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow and multiples analysis.
  • Adept ability to interpret financial statements and project finance models in the context of valuation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand the internal and external drivers of value for a given asset.
