My prominent client based in Oxfordshire has an opening for an Assistant Buyer to join their friendly and supportive team. This amazing opportunity will be ideal for someone with a background in purchasing/buying who is looking for career progression within a highly successful online and mail order retailer. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing a range of products relevant to the brand. Key tasks

Supporting the senior buyer in any delegated tasks, you will:

  • Source a range of products relevant to the brand
  • Negotiate costs and terms with suppliers
  • Learning about competitors and retail trends

Essential Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and has a positive attitude**.** You would also need to have:

  • Strong numeracy skills and an ability to understand sales analysis
  • Exceptional negotiating skills
  • Commercial and creative approach
  • High level attention to detail
  • Confident and adaptable within a changing environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines
  • Experience in buying (homewares / textile experience advantageous)
  • Own transport due to remote location

Benefits & Salary

Salary is £25-30k per annum, depending on experience.

Ability to work from home 2 days a week (excluding catalogue selection months).
