Are you passionate about empowering students with diverse needs? A mainstream secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated BSL Teaching Assistant to start immediately on a full-time, long-term basis until the end of the academic year.

Role: BSL Teaching Assistant

Location: Greenwich, London

Salary: £80.00 - £100.00 per day (based on experience)

Requirements:

  • Qualification in BSL: Certified proficiency in British Sign Language.
  • Previous Child-Based Experience: Demonstrated experience working with children or young adults.
  • DBS on the Update Service: Enhanced DBS clearance, ensuring eligibility to work with children.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Inclusive Learning: Assist in creating an inclusive environment by supporting students with hearing impairments to engage fully in lessons.
  • BSL Integration: Facilitate communication through BSL to ensure seamless interaction between students, teachers, and peers.
  • Individual Support: Work closely with students, providing tailored assistance according to their individual needs, fostering their academic and social development.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to implement effective strategies for supporting students' learning and inclusion.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation in activities.
