Research Software Engineer - AI
FTC until October 2025
An exciting Research organisation is building a team that will focus on AI and Cloud computing services and they are looking for 2x Research Software Engineers to join them.
As the successful candidate you will get to work on exciting Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects including Computer Vision, LLMs, NLP and Machine Learning (ML). You will work with a team of experienced researchers and AI professionals in developing best practices for Cloud and AI usage.
The role is based in Oxford, 3x a week in office and they are offering £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Software Engineering experience working with a public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle or related)
- Programming knowledge with one or more languages such as Python, C++, C, Matlab, R, Java, Rust or relate
- Master's degree in STEM subjects
- Research experience during or post education
Desirables:
- Knowledge of AI capabilities, Data science background is ideal
- Supervising or leading experience
- Fund-raising knowledge through grant applications or project proposals
