Responsibilities:

  • Programme, set up, and operate CNC machines, specifically CNC milling and CNC turning, utilising Fanuc controls.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the correct machining processes.
  • Select and load cutting tools, perform machine offsets, and ensure accurate setups for optimal productivity.
  • Monitor machine operations, adjust settings as needed, and perform quality checks to meet production targets.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and improve machining processes and programmes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and ensure a clean and organised work area at all times.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Previous experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator, with expertise in Fanuc controls.
  • Proficient in programming, setup, and operation of CNC milling and CNC turning machines.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of machining processes and tooling selection.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine-related issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and/or Oil & Gas industry is a plus.

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Experience with other CNC controls and machinery.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Additional technical certifications or training.
