Rate: £396 per day (umbrella)
Location: Fully remote
Contract: 5 months initially

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer on a fully remote basis for an initial 5-month contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in rebuilding ETL processes, optimising existing code, and ensuring new data aligns seamlessly. This position requires a strong background in NHS data systems and familiarity with ESR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild ETL Processes: Design, develop, and implement efficient ETL processes to support data integration and transformation
  • Code Optimization: Analyze and optimize existing spaghetti code to improve performance and maintainability
  • Data Alignment: Ensure new data sources are accurately integrated into the ETL processes, maintaining data integrity and consistency
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, database administrators, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for ETL processes and code changes

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • NHS Background: Proven experience working within the NHS, with a deep understanding of its data systems and requirements
  • ESR Expertise: Hands-on experience with the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system
  • NHS Data Fields: Familiarity with NHS data fields and the ability to work with complex healthcare data
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL development skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other healthcare data systems
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards in healthcare
