We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our forward-looking organisation with high ambitions and big opportunities. This role is central to our data transformation programme, designed to modernise the use and management of data to support our regulatory activity. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and maintaining our data infrastructure and systems.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data sets from various data sources across the enterprise technology stack.
  • Monitor data workflows, identify and mitigate risks, set service level indicators, and configure alerts.
  • Adopt data governance best practices to develop, test, and maintain datasets, including resources like data catalogues and dictionaries.
  • Support continuous data quality improvements and explore enhancements to automated quality assurance processes.
  • Apply dimensional data modelling concepts to develop data models that support business operations.
  • Advocate for an evidence-led culture, assisting with enhancements to the organisation's data capability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Adaptable and willing to work flexibly as organisational needs evolve.
  • Team player with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Logical and analytical approach to data, with experience in data management tools and analytical programming.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem and contemporary Microsoft data solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of database design, data management, and systems integration.
  • Experience with Cloud services, primarily Azure, and ETL tools like SSIS and Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data warehouse modelling, and scripting data pipelines in Python & T-SQL.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices in data services.
  • Agile methodology experience.
