Job Purpose

To be accountable for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control delivery and closure of multiple construction projects relating to the Estate Strategy. Ensuring a consistent approach is applied to all Estate Strategy projects, compliant with the Police and Crime Commissioners Estate Strategy Governance Protocols.

The Project Manager will be working for Merseyside Police working on a range of projects across Merseyside Police Portfolio. The Project Manager will be working on New and Refurbishment building projects.

The Project Manager will have extensive commercial experience to work on challenging projects. It is envisaged that the Project Manager will have at least 5 years' experience in a similar role within New and Refurbishment Building projects . The Project Manager will be joining a fast paced, well organised working environment.

Project Manager Position Overview

  • Manage large scale construction projects
  • Ensure projects delivered on time, to budget, and with quality assured
  • Guarantee effective cost control and elimination of waste leading to project profitability
  • Adhere to compliance with health, safety, environmental, and other current building legislation
  • Ensure conformance with company policies/processes
  • Manage effective and efficient utilisation of resources
  • Coordinating activities with External consultants (e.g. project managers, architects, quantity surveyors)

Project Manager Position Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in all aspects of commercial construction working on project values up to and above £10m
  • Experience producing and managing programmes
  • Ability to delivering projects to a tight programme
  • SMSTS and CSCS
  • up to date knowledge of compliance and industry requirements (e.g. health and safety)
  • Full driving licence
  • Must be able to assemble and evaluate the tender documents, including specifications, schedules, etc for major refurbishments, and newbuild construction projects and convey that technical information to others by using various media.
