Senior People Development Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior People Development Manager to oversee and manage a team of learning and development professionals.

The Senior People Development Manager will have overall responsibility for the company induction, management training and all employee development. The individual will be an experienced L&D professional with strong leadership skills, an expert facilitator, coach and designer. They will have a proven track record of stakeholder management, project delivery and learning strategy development.

This role will join against a backdrop of change and transformation within the business. This will potentially present opportunities and growth for this role.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Oversees all delivery activity for AWE both BAU and programme activity
  • Works with senior stakeholders in the business and cross-functionally in HR
  • Takes a strategic lead on the direction of learning and development requirements for the organisation
  • Able to facilitate training and learning sessions as required
  • Has knowledge and/or accreditations in psychometrics such as Insights, Lumina Spark and Hogan
  • Acts as a trusted, credible and expert consultant and partner to the business on all learning and development activity and requests
  • Provides coaching to both their team members and employees in the business when required
  • Ensures all learning and development activity is fit for purpose, regularly reviewed and world-class
  • Undertakes external benchmarking activity to measure the organisation against its competitors
  • Leads the team on all learning activity including but not limited to management training, Induction, Talent Programmes, support assessment centres, development curriculum, psychometrics, consultancy offering and team effectiveness
  • Overseeing logistics and forecasting of development requirements cross functionally
  • Continuous improvement - what have we got and is it fit for purpose.
  • Leads a team of managers/consultants/specialist in service of the business
  • Provides expert knowledge of adult learning and delivery

Qualifications

Whilst qualifications aren't essential, the following may be desirable:

  • Qualified in psychometrics such as Insights, Hogan, Lumina Spark, MBTI
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degrees in Psychology, Human Resources or related field.
  • CIPD qualified
  • Coaching qualification

Skills

  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal.
  • Organised and has great time management.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and SLAs.
  • A general knowledge of HR.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Ability to network.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Knowledge or Excel, Word and PowerPoint (as well as other MS Office tools).

Experience

  • Experience in L&D/talent management and development.
  • Knowledge and application of psychometrics.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a defence or government organisation preferred.
  • Understanding of security clearance requirements.

Salary starting at £58,830 - £75,000 dependant on experience
