REED is assisting a secondary school in Luton in their search for a dedicated DT Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional who is passionate about Design and Technology and committed to delivering high-quality education.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons, integrating practical workshop sessions to enhance student learning.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Utilise workshop equipment and resources effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and support for individual development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the DT curriculum and departmental initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialisation in Design and Technology or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging DT lessons, with a focus on practical workshop activities.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop equipment, tools, and materials relevant to the DT curriculum.
  • Genuine desire to work with children and foster their development.
