The Role - AWS Cloud Engineer
The Salary - £55,000 - £70,000
The Location - Aberdeen or Dundee (hybrid working, 2 days on site a week).

Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer with excellent knowledge and experience in AWS to join their organization in a Senior Cloud Engineer role. You'll ensure that customer solutions are architected properly while supporting the operation of critical infrastructure solutions. You'll lead from the front, ensuring the extended engineering team have the skills and knowledge to support the organisations platforms.

Your day-to-day:
- You'll be an AWS Cloud engineering expert, and will lead the team from the front to continue to identify and test emerging technologies.
- Ensure the stability and functionality of key AWS platforms through expert knowledge.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance through coaching and mentoring.
- Embed security, stability and capacity within the development and deployment of cloud services.
- Assist with the development of organisational strategies for products and services.
- Promote automation as a key factor within the organisation, ensuring that what can be automated is automated.
- Work with leadership to identify skill gaps within the technical team.
- Act as a point of escalation for engineers, participating in the on-call rota as required.
About you:
- Knowledge and experience of AWS best practices. AWS professional certifications are essential.
- Expert knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Python) and continuous integration / delivery approaches and tools (e.g. GitHub).
- In-depth knowledge of the design and development of applications within AWS.
- Leverage automation with a view to improve development processes and optimise software delivery.
- Containerisation skills are desirable.
- Use of monitoring platforms e.g. Zabbix.
- Knowledge of ITSM platforms including ServiceNow.
- Experience with multi-tenanted and private cloud infrastructure is desirable.
- Strong experience of both Windows and Linux operating systems are desirable.
