Finance Manager

Finance Manager - Real Estate - OUR CLIENT are a well capitalised, specialist residential platform who possess significant expertise in delivering and creating a high-quality, new-build, sustainable properties across the country. As they continue to grow and expand, they have created an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Finance Manager who will play a pivotal role in building robust processes for the expanding business and helping build a strong dynamic team. This role will work cross functionally within the business to deliver financial information, with opportunity to build knowledge of real estate acquisitions, delivery, lettings and management.

THE ROLE responsibilities of the Finance Manager include:

  • End to end ownership for financial controlling and reporting of a fund of assets.
  • Day to day overseeing the Accounts Assistant(s) to ensure the integrity of data and inputs.
  • Preparing timely and accurate reporting on a periodic and ad hoc basis.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns.
  • Providing input to system and process setup and improvements as part of the ongoing platform mobilisation and development.
  • Business partnering and variance analysis with budget holders on cashflow and P&L expenditure.
  • Analysing and providing commentary on business activities, month-end results and budgets.
  • Assisting with and maintaining an integrated forecasting and business planning process.
  • Assisting with input into regular P&L and cashflow reforecasts and the annual budget process.
  • Development of the Assistant Management Accountant and Accounts Assistants.
  • Supporting the Director of Finance and CFO as required.
  • Become a system super user over time and support the Business System Manager as required.
  • Taking part in Ad hoc projects as required, e.g. systems projects, process improvement workstreams, due diligence, acquisitions.

THE PERSON skills and requirements for the Financial Controller are:

  • A Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) with a university degree preferably in accountancy or finance.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years post-qualification experience working in a Finance function for a medium / large enterprise.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (Prior experience of PowerBi preferred, but not essential) along with an experience using property management systems such as YARDI, QUBE, TRAMPS or similar.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet continuous deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written English.
  • Exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic with a desire to progress within a business that will scale rapidly and create further career opportunities.
  • Have a desire to learn, develop and have a 'can-do' attitude to step-up to support the team and business where required.
