Support Worker

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join our lovely team on a full time, permanent basis based in the Howden area. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £13.00 per hour - weekday rate and £14.00 per hour - weekend rate.

  • X2 24-hour shifts comprising of 14 hours waking day and 10 hours sleeping night every 3 weeks in a rolling rota (1 shift a week with a week off)
  • Sleep in rate £9.50 per hour – (£252.00 per shift)

We are extremely proud to offer very distinct and specialised case management services for adults and children recovering from an acquired / traumatic brain injury, spinal or catastrophic injuries and associated disabilities or conditions.

The Support Worker Role:

Support worker required to join an existing team providing 24/7 care and support to a

34-year-old gentleman who resides in his own home with support. Our client was involved in a road traffic accident in 2005 and sustained an acquired brain injury and visual impairments.

Our client is physically independent however he does require regular prompts with regards to personal care and managing his behaviours. He follows a structured weekly rota to maintain his own home completing domestic tasks and staff encourage social activities/ social inclusion within the local community.

What we are looking for in our Support Worker:

  • Applicants must have a supportive, empathetic nature but also have the ability to be assertive and manage challenging behaviors.
  • The successful candidate will be required to promote the client's independence whilst maintaining the client's safety, recognizing the importance of policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Previous experience working with Acquired Brain Injury clients preferred.
  • Driver with full UK License essential.

The successful applicants will receive full training for this role, input from therapists and regular supervision by the Case Manager.
