As the IELTS UK Delivery Lead, General Proposition, you will focus on a segment of IELTS UK's English language testing product portfolio, working together with the Product Manager to translate the product the vision and roadmap into tangible features. As a Delivery Lead, you will provide leadership and direction to cross-functional and cross-partner delivery teams to ensure that their collective contributions enable delivery of the next generation of IELTS products to meet business and customer needs.

The environment within which IELTS operates is changing rapidly. The market is becoming increasingly competitive. As well as traditional testing organisations we are starting to see a number of well-financed and high-profile new entrants looking to gain a share of the high stakes English testing market. The application of technology within assessment is increasing at pace with the growth in online/computer-based testing, and the emergence of initiatives such as remote proctoring and the use of speech recognition and AI in test marking. Customer preferences and expectations are also changing which is having an impact on how they wish to access learning and assessment.

This role requires the ability and willingness to work outside of UK core hours, for example early mornings or later in the evening to accommodate time zone differences. The role will be expected to carry out additional tasks as directed by your line manager or another senior member of IELTS UK / the IELTS partnership.

You'll be...

  • Leading and coordinating across multiple interdisciplinary cross-functional and cross-partner teams/ squads, ensuring efficient and effective ways of working to deliver complex, large-scale product developments
  • Enabling cross-team collaboration and planning, highlighting interdependencies and addressing points of integration or conflict
  • Versing in the dual-track or continuous discovery model of product development and reconciling changing priorities based on new insights with delivery sprint estimating, planning, and delivery
  • Driving efficient cross-functional and cross-partner teamwork to deliver high-quality products within specified timelines
  • Ensuring that interdisciplinary teams understand the vision and expected outcomes for customers and users, to build buy-in to the product vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Supporting interdisciplinary cross-functional and cross-partner teams/ squads in translating the product vision, roadmap, and continuous discovery insights into team-specific log of product development requirements
  • Ensuring the backlog of the multiple teams are connected and aligned toward delivering the same customer value/ proposition/goals
  • Coordinating and overseeing the backlog prioritisation across multiple teams, ensuring that customer/user requirements are prioritised, and key dependencies and integration points are understood
  • Identifying potential risks and challenges related to product development and deployment, implementing proactive strategies to mitigate risks and ensure successful product outcomes
  • Identifying and addressing cross-team quality dependencies, ensuring that all teams are aligned in their approach to quality assurance
  • Coordinating testing efforts across teams to ensure testing activities are well-planned and executed efficiently, which may involve scheduling joint testing sessions, sharing testing resources, and coordinating the resolution of testing-related issues
  • Managing and cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

This job is for you if you have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • Familiarity with of English assessment methodologies preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product owner or related roles, with a track record of successfully delivering products
  • Experience with digital and offline testing products
  • Proven track record of successfully leading multiple interdisciplinary in a dual-track or continuous discovery model
  • Proven track record of effectively managing product development projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Solid understanding of the OKR framework with demonstrated experience in setting and achieving OKRs
  • Experience working with complex technical architectures and effectively managing technical and design debt
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards a common goal
  • Strategic thinking and capacity to align product development efforts with organisational objectives and market opportunities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility to navigate ambiguity and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to achieving targets and driving measurable outcomes
  • Resilience to be able to sustain self and wider team in the face of delivery challenges in a complex stakeholder environment
