Salary - Circa £40,000

This is an exciting role for someone who is professional, committed, and commercial, with the relevant experience to source, manage and maximise business relationships with a number of our most important UK Health & Protection suppliers.

Our Procurement and Outsourcing function procures and manages third party suppliers on behalf of the UK Health & Protection business, ensuring that Aviva is protected against commercial, operational and regulatory risk whilst driving significant value for Aviva and our customers. The Sourcing and Supplier Managers will implement a standard approach to the sourcing, on-boarding and management of our third-party suppliers, ensuring they are sourced and contracted with appropriately in accordance with Aviva Group Standards. You will then ensure the rigorous implementation and operational effectiveness of our supplier oversight framework, also aligned to Aviva Group standards.

A bit about the job:

The successful individuals will need to develop and maintain good relationships across the business, using their gravitas and confidence to influence stakeholders and gain support through their expertise and knowledge. Experience of supporting and coaching colleagues and business peers in the adoption of best practice procurement and supplier management processes and methodologies will be an advantage.

You'll have a good understanding of the principles of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle and be able to demonstrate its relevance to interested stakeholders and the wider business. Considering core business imperatives, for example delivering customer focus / excellence, you will be able to relate them to your own sourcing practice and decisions and the subsequent management of our chosen suppliers.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Experience of working in insurance, procurement, financial services or supply management with additional experience of sourcing and supplier relationship management, ideally with leadership and coaching experience.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and supplier relationship management processes and frameworks including the commercial performance management of contracts and knowledge of supplier risk management techniques, tools and governance requirements.
  • Experience of managing key outsourced relationships, commercial or change projects.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Previous experience of working within healthcare and/or protection would be an advantage.

  • Salary - Circa £40,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
