HGV/GSE Technician – Edinburgh Airport

Working Hours:

The working week for this position is Monday to Friday, moving to a 4 week roster after obtaining an Airside Pass. The 4 week roster is as follows:

Variation of hours: 06:00 - 14:30 / 08:00 - 16:30

  • Week 1 Monday to Friday
  • Week 2 Monday to Friday
  • Week 3 Monday to Sunday
  • Week 4 Wednesday to Friday

The Role:

This is a varied position where you will play a crucial part in the success of the company by offering your expert mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment, such as towing tractors, aircraft tugs, baggage elevators and a variety of specialist, unique vehicles. The suitable candidate will be mechanically skilled and a good problem solver in order to effectively maintain on site equipment.

The Person:

  • Self-motivated with good organisational skills
  • Clear understanding of Health and Safety systems
  • Ability to work under your own initiative
  • Good team player, willing to listen and take new ideas on board Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working on commercial plant vehicles
  • City and Guilds certification in Motor Mechanics or equivalent (essential)
  • Welding (desirable)

You will need to:

  • Be able to demonstrate your Right to Work in the UK
  • Be able to obtain an airside pass which will require you to undergo a criminal record check and 5-year history verification
  • Hold a UK driving licence
  • Provide certifications for all qualifications
