Job Opportunity: Gear Grinder
Hours: 44 hours per week
Shifts: (Monday-Thursday 6 AM - 4 PM, Friday 6 AM - 12 PM; start time can be adjusted to 7 AM)
Contract: 6 months +
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Gear Grinder to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to grind gear teeth to drawing specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components.
- Write and interpret instructions and procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Control machines and processes.
- Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
- Analyze information to find the best solutions to problems.
- Maintain clear and honest communication at all times.
- Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental instructions.
- Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
- Support all relevant 5S activities and report any near misses.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and report any job-related issues to the line manager.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities within your skills and abilities as required by the business.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognised engineering qualification preferred .
- Practical, mechanically oriented with good problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines is ideal-we need someone who can hit the ground running.
