We are currently looking for a HR Business Partner to work with key stakeholders supporting the development and delivery of the organisational strategy through driving people capability. Shaping and implementing effective people strategies and activities across the organisation.

I help to keep people safe and warm by...

  • Leading on the development of the people strategy and plan for defined business areas, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
  • Being an active partner with key stakeholders to ensure a deep understanding of the business plan, goals and challenges faced by the business area, ensuring that HR plans reflect the specific needs of the business area and that HR interventions are pragmatic and fit for purpose within their customer areas
  • Leading action planning on the full range of HR activities for defined business area, working with specialist HR functions (Resourcing, Talent & Development, Employee Relations, Reward & Policy) to develop delivery plans
  • Contributing to the development and ongoing review of the function's organisation structure to ensure it is operating in the most effective way
  • Representing the HR agenda and provide HR influence within the business area, providing support, advice and challenge to the leadership team and key stakeholders.
  • Identifying and analyse emerging people issues, providing objective challenge and engaging the appropriate specialists to ensure resolution
  • Understanding the legislative landscape and have the ability to apply in practice, also ensuring compliance with necessary policies and processes

What you'll need

  • The job holder must be CIPD qualified.
  • The technical skills and job knowledge/experience are essential in this job are:
  • Commercially savvy with a deep understanding of how to align the people plan to support the delivery of the business areas strategy.
  • Data literate - confident to interpret large / complex data sets to identify insights that ensure all people related activity is focused and adds value.
  • Experience of working in a diverse operational / corporate environment including exposure to Trade Unions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and effect influential working relationships at all levels
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills - able to articulate complex concepts in ways that are accessible to all levels across the organisation.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a challenging workload with competing priorities with a level of ambiguity.
  • Pragmatic with deep technical knowledge and practical understanding of broad generalist HR issues
