Business Systems Analyst

- Location: Hybrid working, 2 days in the Wickford office (Mon & Wed)
- Salary: £50-90K depending on experience
We are seeking a Systems Analyst with a background in the Insurance industry coupled with configuration using SQL as well as Business Analyst skills (process flows/mapping) - THESE 3 ARE A MUST HAVE! Only apply if you have all 3 experiences please.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering projects, owning issues, and demonstrating flexibility in both business and technical areas. This role is client-facing and requires excellent communication skills to determine requirements, estimate costs, and present solutions.
Day to Day of the role:
- Configure insurance systems to meet client specifications.
- Produce project feasibility reports and liaise with external clients or internal resources.
- Create documentation and MIS reports using tools such as Crystal and MS Report Builder.
- Build and execute SQL queries for database reporting and modifications.
- Translate client requirements into highly specified project documents.
- Develop logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Propose system modifications or replacements to clients and ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
- Plan and execute testing schedules for product/model testing.
- Implement projects, working flexibly to deadlines, and provide user training.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical and insurance industry developments.
- Undertake any other related duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Several years of experience with a good understanding of the insurance industry.
- Proven analytical ability and strong logical investigative skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and database applications, design methods, and approaches.
- Ability to learn and understand insurance and financial applications.
- Competence in configuring software applications to client requirements.
- Understanding of business and system process flows and the ability to design appropriate solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of work product.
- Autonomous work ethic and ownership of tasks and issues.
- Competent use and understanding of standard office IT applications.
