Finance Manager

MacKenzie King are currently recruiting a Finance Manager to join a global organisation with a base in Ipswich. As a Finance Manager you will manage a team of 2/3 Accounts Assistants and support the Head Of Finance in the timely production of accurate information and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all payments, and all general ledger entries are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure technical results and ledger balances between multiple systems are reconciled on a quarterly basis
  • Maintain the general ledger ensuring that data is loaded accurately and that the appropriate monthly controls are adhered to
  • Ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to internal clients in terms of: timely delivery, accuracy of data, responsiveness to queries, reconciliations made
  • Improve and optimise the accounts production process and the quality of reports produced
  • Lead and develop the team. Manage the workload and performance of team members with particular focus on productivity and process optimisation while ensuring teams are motivated and capable of multi-tasking, by emphasising constant communication.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key business contacts
  • Liaise with external auditors to manage the year end audit process where necessary
  • Manage ad hoc finance projects as required

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Studying towards ACCA/CIMA is preferred but QBE will be considered
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with 5+ years' experience in a financial reporting/management accounting environment
  • Proven track record of excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of processes and IT software packages
  • Excellent organisation, planning and people management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and operate within a tight deadline environment
